The Commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, AIG Patrick A. Atayero, on Tuesday, led a high-powered delegation on a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Kano State as part of preparations for the Academy’s maiden Convocation, Course Night and Passing Out Parade Ceremony.

AIG Atayero, the 24th Commandant of the institution, was accompanied by key senior officers, including the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Bakori; the Deputy Commandant, CP Bassey Ewah; the Director of Works, Infrastructure and Physical Development, CP Sani Musa Mohammed; and the Academy Registrar, Barr. Dr. Ekpere Ezegwu. Other senior officers from both the Academy and the Command were also in attendance.

During the meeting, the Governor warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for the Commandant’s visit, describing it as a strategic step towards ensuring a successful rollout of the upcoming historic events. He reaffirmed the Kano State Government’s commitment to supporting the Nigeria Police Academy, noting its vital role in grooming future police leaders and contributing to the state’s overall security and development.

The courtesy visits further strengthened the longstanding relationship between the Academy and the Kano State Government, highlighting shared aspirations for enhancing policing standards, fostering academic excellence, and deepening community development initiatives.

The forthcoming Convocation and Passing Out Parade Ceremony will be the first in the Academy’s history, marking a major milestone since its upgrade to a degree-awarding institution.
