…THE MAIDEN EDITION OF THE SISTERS’ HANGOUT

A seasoned broadcaster and the Director General, Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBO), Owerri, Chief Ify Onyegbule, has convened the maiden edition of the Sisters’ Hangout in Lagos.

Held on Friday, November 21st at the prestigious Sheraton Hotel, Lagos, brought together women from diverse professional and business backgrounds for intentional networking, collaboration, and inspiration.

The event was designed to dismantle the long-held stereotype that “women are the biggest problem of women” and instead spotlight the power of unity, shared vision, and mutual support among women.

In her opening remarks, Chief Ify Onyegbule, the visionary of Sisters’ Hangout, emphasized that the gathering was more than a social meetup—it was a strategic movement to build a community of powerful, visionary women who are committed to lifting one another and growing together.

“Women-owned businesses and career trajectories thrive when we create rooms, share opportunities, and collaborate intentionally. Today is not just a hangout; it is the beginning of a new era of sisterhood, support systems, and shared success,” she said.

She noted that the Hangout aims to become a safe space where women can connect, exchange real solutions to real challenges, and build meaningful partnerships that drive long-term impact.

The event featured high-energy networking sessions, storytelling, and inspiring conversations that encouraged women to think big, act boldly, and build sustainably. Professionals, entrepreneurs, creatives, and executives interacted freely, exchanged contacts, and identified areas for collaboration.

Participants collectively resolved to support one another beyond the event by:

* Sharing opportunities, referrals, and knowledge

* Pursuing joint projects and business partnerships

* Offering mentorship and capacity-building to younger women

* Building a community of accountability and empowerment

* Challenging negative stereotypes about women’s relationships

As the Hangout came to a close, Chief Onyegbule announced that Sisters’ Hangout 2.0 is underway, expanding its reach to include more women across various fields who are passionate about leadership, collaboration, and personal growth.

“This movement has begun. We are building a tribe of women who think big, grow big, and win together. Every woman who believes in support systems and purpose-driven networking is welcome to join us,” she added.
