President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as the National Renewed Hope Ambassador ahead of the forthcoming national launch of the Federal Government’s Ward Development Programme.
The appointment, which takes immediate effect, also designates Governor Uzodimma as the Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement, and Mobilisation.
Announcing the development, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said the governor will work closely with the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and state governors to promote the Tinubu administration’s programmes and achievements nationwide.
Uzodimma, who currently chairs the Progressive Governors Forum, is expected to champion cohesion, inclusiveness, and strategic coordination within the party while leading nationwide mobilisation and public engagement efforts.
President Tinubu also revealed that APC governors will serve as Ambassadors of Hope in their respective states, strengthening the administration’s messaging and citizen outreach.
The President outlined key achievements under the Renewed Hope Agenda since 2023, including seven consecutive months of declining inflation—now at 16.05 per cent—stabilisation of the exchange rate, and a rise in foreign reserves from $32 billion in 2023 to over $46 billion. Other notable gains include increased investor confidence, a revitalised stock market, growth in the solid minerals sector, and the enrolment of over 700,000 students in the new educational loan scheme. Passport processing timelines have also been cut to under one week.
Tinubu expressed confidence that Governor Uzodimma’s new role will help deepen public understanding and support for the administration’s reforms and development initiatives.
