In a historic milestone, the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, today conducted its first-ever Combined Convocation Ceremony for Regular Courses 1–7 officers, alongside the official commissioning of the newly built 1,000-seat IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun Multipurpose Hall.
The commissioning ceremony was performed by the Honourable Minister of Police Affairs, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Anuma Ogbonnaya Nnia. The Inspector General of Police was represented by DIG Sadiq Abubakar, head of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the 23rd Commandant of the Academy.

Leading the Academy’s management team, the 24th Commandant, AIG Patrick A. Atayero, MSc, MBA, psc, MSPSP, welcomed dignitaries, stakeholders, and guests to the landmark event.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer of the Academy, DSP Musa Isah Umar, the convocation ceremony was conducted with precision and marked by a high level of organization, celebrating the academic and professional achievements of the graduating cadets. Observers noted that the event underscores the Academy’s commitment to excellence and capacity-building under the visionary guidance of the Inspector General of Police.
The newly commissioned multipurpose hall is expected to serve as a hub for academic, training, and ceremonial functions, further strengthening the Academy’s infrastructure and learning environment.
