“You have done well. The General Officer Commanding 81 Division, has briefed me on the improved security situation as well as the commendable level of discipline in all units within the division area of responsibility.

Lt Gen Shaibu, who was on his maiden two days visit to 81 Division expressed satisfaction with the discipline and operational ingenuity the GOC 81 Division, Major General Farouk Mijinyawa has inculcated into the troops and urged them to maintain such high standards.

According to the Army Chief, “I’m also happy to note that illegal duties have also reduced tremendously. Do your best to stay out of trouble. Maintain the soldier core values and that will keep you on the right path.

“I just want to say thank you. We appreciate you for all you have been doing. Remain disciplined, remain focused.

“You have all done well. I want you to maintain that trajectory, and I assure you that your welfare is our priority. I’m here with all my staff and we are putting you first,” he reiterated.

On troops welfare, he further stated that “Everything that concerns your well-being, welfare in terms of accommodation, allowances, the education of your children, healthcare, we would ensure we give that top priority and ensure you have a top-notch education for your children.

“Whatever that is bothering you, you have your chance. Speak to your officers, turn the senior NCOs upwards and it will be addressed quickly.

“Listen to your officers, they will lead you well, follow the instructions and have at the back of your mind the soldier creed and the core values of the Nigerian Army. Once you stay on that route, you will never go wrong.”

The visit is continuing on thursday, 11th December, 2025 to formation in the 81 division’s Areas of Responsibilities (AOR).
