The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has urged Nigerians to embrace the values of love, light and hope exemplified by Jesus Christ as a pathway to national renewal and progress.
Olukoyede made the call in Abuja on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, in his Christmas message to the nation, stressing that Nigeria requires a renewed sense of hope, unity and moral clarity to overcome its challenges.
According to him, the message of Christmas offers Nigerians an opportunity to reflect on the virtues Christ brought to the world and to apply them in building a stronger and more respected nation.
“Nigeria needs the refreshing hope, love and light which Christ brought to the entire world,” he said, calling on citizens to work together for national growth and development.
The EFCC chairman also identified corruption as a major obstacle to the country’s progress, urging Nigerians to confront it collectively and decisively.
“Let us join hands to make our nation greater, stronger and richer. Corruption is a drawback, and we must confront it more fiercely to allow the abundant life of God to manifest in our nation,” Olukoyede stated.
He further encouraged Nigerians to align with the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the policy direction provides a framework for national revival and sustainable development.
Olukoyede expressed confidence that embracing the agenda would inspire renewed optimism and collective resolve among Nigerians. “Let the Renewed Hope agenda of Mr. President ignite fresh hopes of revival in us, with the belief that Nigeria will rise again,” he said.
The Christmas message, he noted, should serve as a reminder of shared responsibility in building a nation founded on integrity, accountability and mutual respect.
The statement was issued by the Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr. Dele Oyewale.
