Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have dealt a heavy blow to Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Borno State, neutralising eight insurgents and securing the surrender of 11 others, along with their weapons and ammunition, in a series of coordinated offensive operations across key areas of the state.

Under Operation DESERT SANITY V, sustained pressure along the Azir–Wajiroko axis on 10 January forced 11 terrorists to surrender, handing over their AK-47 rifles and assorted ammunition to the troops.

Earlier, on 9 January, military forces conducted extensive clearance operations in the Bulaagalda cluster, targeting terrorist enclaves and camps at Dagumba, Bonne, Yaganari, Gosuri, and Umchile, including the notorious Abu Nazir and Abu Ahmed camps.

Troops dismantled life-support structures, destroyed logistics facilities, and recovered weapons, ammunition, and terrorist flags. Similar operations in the Yale and Bula Gaida areas forced enemy fighters to flee, resulting in additional destruction of terrorist facilities and the recovery of a general-purpose machine gun and other arms.

In a related operation between Sojiri and Kayamla villages, troops engaged JAS/ISWAP elements, neutralising eight terrorists and recovering their AK-47 rifles. Additionally, two suspected terrorist logistics collaborators were arrested at Gubio Local Government Area for supplying the insurgents.

Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer for Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, stated that troops remain resolute in maintaining offensive pressure, dismantling terrorist networks, and restoring lasting peace and security across the North East region.
