Rite Foods Limited, a leading Nigerian food and beverage company, has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing access to quality education and promoting sustainable learning outcomes across communities where it operates, as the world marks the International Day of Education.
The company said the initiative aligns with its long-standing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework, which focuses on supporting pupils in public primary schools within underserved communities. According to Rite Foods, education remains a critical driver of national development, social inclusion and long-term economic growth.
As part of the outreach programme, the company distributed essential learning materials, including school bags and exercise books, to pupils in selected public primary schools across Lagos and Ogun states. The intervention was aimed at easing learning challenges, boosting academic engagement and supporting inclusive community development.
A key highlight of the initiative was its sustainability focus. The school bags distributed were produced from recycled post-consumer packaging waste sourced from Rite Foods’ product portfolio, including Fearless Energy Drinks, Bigi Soft Drinks and Water, as well as sausage packaging. The approach underscores the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship and the promotion of circular economy practices.
Each school engagement also featured interactive learning sessions, educational activities and practical demonstrations on recycling and environmental responsibility, exposing pupils to early lessons on sustainability and responsible consumption.
Commenting on the initiative, the Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Rite Foods, Mr. Ekuma Eze, said education remains central to building sustainable societies.
“Education is the foundation upon which sustainable societies are built. At Rite Foods, we remain committed to supporting learning initiatives that not only improve access to education but also inspire responsible citizenship and environmental consciousness,” he said.
Eze added that the company’s approach to education goes beyond material support, noting that the goal is to empower young minds with the confidence, values and opportunities needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
As the global community marks the International Day of Education, Rite Foods Limited continues to demonstrate how corporate organisations can play a meaningful role in advancing education, sustainability and community development in Nigeria.
