The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc, on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, embarked on a wide-ranging community engagement tour across Mabushi, Life Camp, Katampe, and the Kubwa/Bwari axis as part of preparations for the forthcoming 2026 Area Council elections.
The engagement sessions, held in Mabushi and Bwari, brought together senior police officers including Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers, alongside traditional rulers, community leaders, youth representatives, commercial tricycle and motorcycle operators, and other key stakeholders.
According to the Command’s Spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the interactive forums were aimed at strengthening police–community collaboration, enhancing service delivery, and promoting peaceful coexistence as the electoral season approaches in the Federal Capital Territory.

Community members used the opportunity to openly share their concerns and observations regarding prevailing security challenges within their localities, while engaging directly with the Police leadership on practical solutions.
Addressing participants, CP Dantawaye urged community leaders and stakeholders to caution youths and residents against acts capable of undermining peace, stressing that elections should not be treated as a do-or-die affair. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to inclusive and people-centred policing, noting that sustainable security can only be achieved through mutual trust, timely intelligence sharing, and active community participation.
The Commissioner assured residents of the Command’s readiness to ensure a peaceful environment before, during, and after the 2026 Area Council elections.
The community engagement tour forms part of the FCT Police Command’s proactive strategy to deepen stakeholder partnerships and consolidate public confidence in policing across the Territory.
