The Federal Government has launched the Renewed Hope Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (RHGEEP 3.0) and flagged off the FarmerMonie Dry and Wet Season Programme in a bold move to expand economic opportunities, strengthen food security, and accelerate poverty reduction nationwide.
The initiatives were unveiled in Abuja by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction through the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Declaring the programmes open, the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Bernard Doro, described the event as more than the launch of two initiatives, saying it reflects the Federal Government’s resolve to translate policy commitments into practical interventions that improve lives and restore dignity.

He noted that the Renewed Hope Agenda is anchored on inclusion, resilience, and shared prosperity, explaining that RHGEEP 3.0 is designed to expand access to affordable finance for micro and small-scale entrepreneurs, artisans, traders, and informal sector operators. According to him, empowering small businesses will drive enterprise growth, stimulate job creation, and ensure income stability across communities.
Dr. Doro emphasised that RHGEEP 3.0 is fundamentally about deepening financial inclusion, stressing that millions of Nigerians outside the formal financial system must be integrated into the economic mainstream for development to be truly inclusive. He added that strengthening small enterprises ultimately builds resilient local economies.
On the FarmerMonie Dry and Wet Season Programme, the Minister described agriculture as a strategic pillar for national stability and economic transformation. He explained that the programme is structured to support farmers during both planting seasons, reduce seasonal vulnerabilities, enhance yields, and directly contribute to national food security.

He further underscored that sustainable poverty reduction must prioritise empowerment over dependency, noting that humanitarian efforts should focus not only on relief but on creating long-term opportunities for self-reliance and economic security.
In her goodwill message, Hajiya Fatima Tajudeen Abbas applauded the Federal Government for prioritising grassroots empowerment and women-centred interventions, observing that economic empowerment at the household level fosters stronger and more stable communities.
Also speaking, the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs described the initiatives as timely and impactful, pointing out that women dominate Nigeria’s micro-business and agricultural value chains and stand to benefit significantly from improved access to finance and enterprise support.

The National Coordinator of NSIPA assured stakeholders that the Agency has strengthened its targeting, monitoring, and delivery systems to guarantee transparency, accountability, and effective nationwide implementation.
Providing technical insights, the National Programme Manager of RHGEEP, Mr. Hamza Baba, disclosed that RHGEEP 3.0 will provide accessible enterprise financing to micro and small businesses, while FarmerMonie will deliver interest-free, collateral-free loans to eligible smallholder farmers through clear eligibility criteria and technology-driven processes.
Highlights of the event included the symbolic presentation of cheques to selected beneficiaries and the unveiling of the official registration portal for prospective applicants.
Dignitaries at the event included senior government officials, heads of agencies, representatives of development partners and partnering banks, leaders of farmers’ associations and cooperative societies, and other key stakeholders.
