…TO PARTNER BANKS, NORTHERN GOVERNORS
By Okosun Dennis
Nigerians will soon enjoy affordable houses as one of the contestants of the Celebrity Come Build Reality TV Show, Saeed Muhammed, popularly known as Funky Mallam, had unveiled his plans to partner with banks, Northern Governors to build affordable housing for northerners.
He said that with the vast knowledge he has acquired in the course of the reality event, it was time to ensure his dreams are nurtured to fruition.
While reacting to criticisms that he dropped as team leader in week two, having led in week one due to low votes because northerners didn’t vote for him, said a lot needed to be done in housing engineering.
Speaking in Hausa language, his response was impressive especially with the rate at which northerners are now campaigning for him, especially the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) National Vice President, South West, Femi Branch and the Igbo groups.
“It’s not because the northerners did not vote; I had lots of votes from the north, but because things keep changing and people don’t get to vote for you every week.
“But I’m very optimistic that this week, there will be a difference because I’ve been seeing the signs people like Alli Nuhu, Uzee Usman of Uzi Concept has started flagging the campaign for me in the north and so many other places even Laura Ikeji actually posted me, Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo, better known as KCEE, Femi Branch and so many other people are rooting for me,” he said.
When asked what the benefit is for the Northerners if they vote massively for him to win the show, he said: “There is a lot of benefit for my voting fans because I’ll be coming with a lot of projects that will be going round to help people in need of shelter, because I’ll like to go into building and construction.
“Starting from the small-scale, people who will need little amounts to build their own houses. This is the plan I have and joining hands with my bank and the Northern Governors, I hope to achieve all these with God on my side.”
According to the Media Coordinator, Theresa Moses, described Funky Mallam as always a delight to watch on-site whenever he’s working.
“His ever-smiling face gladdens his team-mates and colleagues; making activities on-site fun. Since the northerners are always proud of their own, let’s see how far they get Saeed Muhammed to the final of the show. The ultimate prize for the winner is N120 million, including a 5-Bedroom Duplex in Lekki, an all-expense paid trip to Dubai and lots more.”
