The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba has approved the posting and redeployment of 24 Assistant Inspector General of Police to new commands.
In a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, CP Frank Mba on Tuesday said the redeployment was in line with the new Manpower Development Policy of the Force.
“He has ordered the posting and redeployment of 24 Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs) to Zonal Commands and Formations across the country.”
AIG AKI M. AHMED is now in charge of Special Police Unit (SPU) Force Headquarters, Abuja; AIG MUSTAPHA DANDAURA has been moved to Zone 4, Makurdi; AIG DANSUKI D. GALADANCHI is to handle the Counterterrorism Unit, Force Headquarters, Abuja; while AIG OKON ETIM ENE, Zone 17, Akure.
Others are AIG USMAN D. NAGOGO, who is now in charge of Border Patrol, Force Headquarters, Abuja; AIG BALA CIROMA is to preside over Zone 7, Abuja; while AIG ADELEKE ADEYINKA BODE has been posted as the AIG Zone 9 Umuahia.
Also moved is AIG MURI UMAR MUSA, who will hold sway at Zone 13 UKPO-DUNUKOFIA AWKA. Also affected is AIG LAWAL JIMETA TANKO, who takes over as the Commandant Police Academy, Wudil- Kano; AIG USMAN ALHASSAN BELEL, will be in charge of Force Criminal Investigation Department, Annex, Lagos.
However, AIG ADEBOLA EMMANUEL LONGE is now to head the Department of Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja; AIG MUSA ADZE, Investment, Force Headquarters, Abuja while AIG PHILIP SULE MAKU, is deployed to DICT Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The new AIG Zone 6 Calabar is AIG USMAN SULE GOMNA while AIG Cooperative ADAMU USMAN. AIG Zone 3 Yola is DANIEL SOKARI-PEDRO.
Other newly deployed AIGs after the inspector General of Police, IGP swear them in on Monday are: AIG DTD FHQ Abuja, AIG AHMED MOHAMMED AZARE, AIG Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex Kaduna AIG MAIGANA ALHAJI SANI; AIG Zone 12 Bauchi, AIG AUDU ADAMU MADAKI and AIG Maritime, Lagos AIG JOHN OGBONNAYA AMADI.
Also AIG Zone 8, Lokoja is now headed by AIG EDE AYUBA EKPEJI; AIG ARMAMENT Force Headquarters Abuja, AIG MOHAMMED L. BAGEGA; AIG Zonr 15, Maiduguri, AIG BELLO MAKWASHI and AIG WORKS Force Headquarters Abuja, AIG BALARABE ABUBAKAR.
The IGP, however, assured the nation that the posting and redeployment of the Senior Police Officers will further help in driving the new policing vision, which amongst other things, is targeted at improving policing services across the country and effectively responding to security threats in the country.
The posting and the redeployment of the Senior Police Officers are with immediate effect.
