The Chief Of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Oladayo Amao has called on military retirees to leverage on the knowledge, skills, and expertise acquired during years of service to the nation as they retire into civil life.
The Airforce Chief who spoke at the weekend during the passing out ceremony of Course 02/2021 held at the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Oshodi, Lagos, told military personnel that contemporary global economic and national security climate is dynamic in both post-service lives and in the future.
According to him, the country is facing multifaceted threats, therefore, the sustenance of quality training for retiring personnel in vocational, entrepreneurship, and managerial skills remains a viable tool for a productive post-service life.
On his part the Commandant, Air Vice Marshal Mohamed Idris urged the retirees to carry on with the same spirit adding that the skills they acquired during training would assist them as they transit to civil life.
He noted that the course they just completed has equipped them to cope with the complexities of civil society.
Over 50,000 Military retirees have been trained in the centre in recent years.
