A soldier and three unknown Gunmen were killed as Troops of Sector 5 of Exercise GOLDEN DAWN deployed in Enugu, engaged some notorious gunmen who had attacked a Nigerian Police checkpoint along Okija-Onitsha expressway on Thursday, October 7, 2021.
The gallant troops engaged and overwhelmed the gunmen with superior firepower, and forced them to flee the scene.
During a hot pursuit and exchange of gunfire, the three gunmen, among whom drove in two Vehicles (a Hilux and Hummer bus), eventually succumbed to troops’ effective firepower, while others fled with gunshot wounds.
