…TASK OFFICERS TO BUILD THEIR CAPACITY FOR OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 81 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Umar Thama Musa on Monday called on officers of the division to leverage the Operations Planning Cadre 2022 to build their capacity for optimal performance saying that the security challenges we are faced with require new vigour to tackle by commanders.
While declaring opened the programme, he enjoined the officers to maximize the advantages inherent in Operations Planning Cadre 2022 in their assigned roles and responsibilities.
Maj Gen Musa, who was represented by the Commander, 81 Division Garrison, Brig-Gen NMS Nagidada said that the Operations Planning Cadre was aimed at availing participants with the necessary capabilities and competencies that they require to successfully plan future operations while also providing the opportunity to promote synergy and cooperation with sister services.
The four days Operations Planning Cadre for Officers within 81 Div NA Area of Responsibility (AOR) is taking place at the Officers’ Mess, Marina with the theme: “Capacity Building at Tactical Level of Operational Planning in a Joint Environment.”
Explaining further, the GOC noted that the cadre is also expected to explore ways of building on the existing efforts of the Division to meet its operational needs.
He further reiterated that armies all over the world have continually engaged in training and capacity building to enable them to surmount emerging security challenges.
Urging them to take advantage of the cadre to derive maximum benefits, Gen Musa stressed that the Nigerian Army recognized the fact and would continually develop the capacity of its personnel through realistic training that would enhance its operations and tackle security challenges.
Some resource persons that delivered lectures included the Deputy Commandant, Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC) Oshodi, Maj Gen Sunday Igbinomwanhia on “Military Decision making Process in Internal Security” and Colonel Jerry Maigari whose lecture was titled “Planning Consideration for CITCOIN Operations: A Tactical Command Experience”.
Other series of lectures would be delivered by eminent resource persons as the training programme continues.
