A trailer conveying Kings Groundnut Oil has tumbled and emptied its content into the gutter at the White House bus stop, Odogunyan, Ikorodu.
The incident happened about 10-minutes ago. As a result, heavy traffic has built up towards Ogijo and inwards Ikorodu.
Our reporter who was at the spot when the incident occurred explained that it was a result of the driver’s miscalculation.
“He was trying to connect Ikorodu road from a feeder road but didn’t fully get into the major road before he turned, making the back tyres enter into the gutter and it fell.”
At the moment, the fuel tank has burst and the diesel has emptied into the gutter with some of the 25-litres jerrycans containing groundnut oil.
Although no LASTMA officials and policemen were sighted, two soldier men, ostensibly from Odogunyan barracks, which is a stone thrown from the spot, were making frantic efforts to control the surging traffic that has built up.
No life was lost as the driver and motor boy came out from the driver chambers that weren’t affected. The trailer was fully loaded with hundreds of 25-litres, cartons of Kings Groundnut Oil.
