The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command on Thursday, October 27, 2022, received 20 of the 60 operational vehicles donated to 16 security outfits within the Federal Capital Territory.
The minister of FCT, H.E. Mohammed Musa Bello, in his goodwill message just before the vehicles were Test-driven and handed over to the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Babaji Sunday, noted that the donation comes with three years paid servicing schedule and it is one of the several measures by the current administration to ensure that the country is safer before its succession.
In addition, the Minister noted that the Six Area Councils will be supported with five hundred Million Naira (N500,000,000) in the commencement of a better community policing strategy and other security-related gadgets to be controlled by the Central Command and Control Center domiciled in the FCT Police Command.
He further commended the Security operatives for their gallantry and selfless services, especially, those who have paid the ultimate price in the course of discharging their duty.
While driving home his speech, the Minister reiterated his confidence in the security apparatus and architecture of the Territory. He stated that the newly donated vehicles will enhance optimal security delivery via prompt response and visibility policing.
He, thereafter, submitted that the FCT is absolutely safe and boasts of watertight security architecture.
CP Sunday, with overwhelming joy, upon receiving the donation on behalf of the Command, reiterated the very words of the Minister, noting that for every crime successfully committed, several others have been nipped in the board.
He consequently urged residents to play their roles by reporting suspicious activities to relevant agencies. He also wishes to corroborate the minister’s assertion that the FCT is safe and members of the public are urged to go about their lawful businesses without the fear of harassment or molestation of any kind or from any quarters.
