The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General YD Ahmed has appealed for increased assistance from members of the National Assembly as the Scheme offers more contributions to national development.
Disclosing this in a statement by the NYSC Director, Press and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa, the DG said this would enable the Scheme to consolidate on the achievements it recorded in the last fifty years.
Brigadier General YD Ahmed stated this when he paid advocacy visits to the Chairman, Senate Committee on Youth Development, Distinguished Senator Yemi Adaramodu, and the Chairman, House Committee on Youth Development, Honourable Martins Esin on their assumption of office.
The Director General during his separate visits to both lawmakers in Abuja congratulated them for emerging as Chairmen of Lawmakers that would oversee youth-related issues in the country, adding that NYSC would not relent in its contributions to national unity, socio-economic development of the country, youth empowerment, wealth creation among others.
He opined that there is a need to foster stronger relationships with lawmakers so as to prioritize youth concerns in our dear nation.
In their separate remarks, Senator Adaramodu and Honourable Esin promised to provide every necessary support that would provide a more enabling environment for the Scheme in the discharge of its mandate.
