Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike said that the Abuja Industrial Park project in the FCT will grow the country’s economy and create employment for the youths.

The Minister disclosed this when he visited the Abuja Industrial Park being developed by Zeberced Group at the Idu Industrial District of Abuja on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.

Barr. Wike said the Abuja Industrial Park project, which has been approved as a free zone, will attract lots of businesses to the area due to the availability of regular power supply.

The FCT Minister who was also informed by the MD, Zeberced Group, Mr. Adil Aydin Kurt, that the project will create about 40,000 jobs in the FCT when fully operational, commended the company for its commitment and assured of continued support of the FCT Administration.

According to the Minister, “This is what we are talking about; growing the economy. This is what we are talking about; creating employment for the youths. Here you see that so many companies will have opportunities to come here because it has now been approved as a free zone for them and there will be regular electricity, which keeps manufacturers and businessmen going.

“From what the MD said, it’s going to create not less than 40,000 direct employment and that is huge. There is no government that will not support this kind of investment”.

The FCT Minister applauded the company over its decision to expand the road leading to the park, pledged the FCT Administration’s support to ensure that the road project comes to fruition.

Expressing optimism that the road project, when completed will accelerate the development of Idu District, Wike said, “Having gone around, we can attest to the fact that, this is really what we need to grow our economy. You can imagine how the whole of Idu will be developed. This is what every government craves for, and we must give them the necessary support.

“There is no city that if you want to develop and you don’t have an industrial park. How will that city develop? So, we are very happy and we want to thank the company Zeberced for their commitment to making sure that Abuja is growing,

Barr Wike further commended the Zeberced Group for keeping to high standards and branding the items being produced at the industrial Park, including polypropylene pipes and sandwich panel roofing sheets as made in Nigeria, assuring that the products would speak for themselves.

“There is no need to discredit yourself or not to sell yourself. I thank them and urge them to continue to do what they are doing.

“Once production is made and it’s a good quality production, people will buy and outsiders will also buy.

“For us, it is quality and we thank God that we have some companies that are committed to making sure that they produce in Nigeria”.

The Minister also assured of adequate security and called for further investments into local production.

“Abuja is safe and we encourage people to emulate companies like this that have the belief that this country must grow”.

Earlier in his remark, the MD Zeberced Group said the Abuja Industrial Park, which sits on 250 hectares of land is being developed as a free zone, and currently features 208 workshops, designed to support small and medium-scale industries, among others.

The MD added that production of precast concretes, plastic, and propylene pipes, as well as sandwich insulation roofing sheets, among others, were already ongoing at the Park, stressing that the project will add to the growth and development of the Nigerian economy.
