AFCSC INAUGURATES SENIOR COURSE 47, JUNIOR COURSE 99/2025

AFCSC Inaugurates Senior

The Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) Jaji, has inaugurated participants of Senior Course 47 and Junior Course 99/2025 for various military training.

The ceremony took place at Ihejirika Hall in Jaji Military Cantonment on 27th January 2025.

Apart from training officers of the Nigerian Military, international students from Benin Republic, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Congo Brazzaville, Eswatini, Ghana, Liberia, Mali, South Africa, Tanzania, The Gambia, and Togo are participating.

It was gathered that the Senior Course 47/25 comprised 265 officers from the Nigerian Army, 60 from the Nigerian Navy, 57 from the Nigerian Air Force, and 13 international students.

Meanwhile, Junior Course 99/25 had 39 Nigerian Army officers, 120 Nigerian Navy officers, 93 Nigerian Air Force officers and 15 international student officers.

In his opening remarks, the Commandant AFCSC, Air Vice Marshal Hassan Alhaji, emphasized the relevance of the courses in preparing the officers for future challenges in an evolving security landscape.

“The primary objective of these courses is to enhance your professional knowledge, leadership skills, and strategic thinking” he stated.

He added that “the security landscape today is complex and dynamic, with ever-evolving threats and challenges. As future military commanders and leaders, you must be well-prepared to navigate these complexities and lead with vision and determination.”

While outlining the structures of the courses, AVM Alhaji said the courses include rigorous academic study, practical exercises, and dynamic discussions on a wide range of subjects from operational-level planning to critical thinking.

He expressed confidence that the training would equip participants with the necessary skills to operate effectively as staff officers and prepare them for higher responsibilities within their respective Armed Forces.

Therefore, he urged them to demonstrate the qualities expected of professional military officers, emphasizing the need for discipline, determination, and vision throughout their training.
