The Anambra State Police Command has received 30 Toyota Hilux patrol vehicles from the Anambra State Government as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security operations and enhance public safety across the state.
The vehicles were presented on Thursday by the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, at the Old Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia.

Disclosing the development in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said during the ceremony, the Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc, mnips, PhD, also presented 28 Anambra indigenes newly commissioned as Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) to the governor. The officers had recently completed their training at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano, and were subsequently commissioned into the officers’ cadre of the Nigeria Police Force before being posted to Anambra State.
CP Orutugu said the deployment of the new officers, alongside the addition of the patrol vehicles, would significantly boost police visibility, improve response time, and enhance overall operational efficiency across the state.

While receiving the officers, Governor Soludo charged them to uphold the core values of Anambra State and serve as worthy ambassadors by exemplifying professionalism, discipline, and integrity. He urged them to live up to the state’s slogan by being “a Light to the Nation” through dedicated and exemplary service.
The governor also described the donation of the patrol vehicles as a clear demonstration of the state government’s continued support for the Nigeria Police Force in its efforts to maintain peace, security, and public safety in Anambra State.

Several dignitaries attended the event, including the Secretary to the State Government, the Principal Secretary to the Governor, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, senior officers of the Anambra State Police Command, and other key stakeholders.
