As part of activities marking the 2026 Armed Forces Day celebration, the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc, minps, PhD, on Saturday, January 11, 2026, joined the Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, alongside other security service commanders and top government functionaries at a special church service held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral, Awka.
The church service, which formed a key component of the Armed Forces Day commemoration, was organised to honour the sacrifices, patriotism, and gallantry of officers and men of the Nigerian Armed Forces who paid the supreme price in defence of the nation’s unity and security.
The Commissioner of Police emphasised the importance of sustained inter-agency collaboration and community support in enhancing security operations across the state.
