The Anambra State Police Command has recorded a significant breakthrough in the case of a missing 16-year-old girl, Miss Oluebube Chukwuma, following the arrest of two suspects linked to her disappearance in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of the state.
Operatives of the Command attached to the Ozubulu Police Division, acting on technologically driven intelligence, arrested two female suspects—Uzoma Nwabueze and Precious Monday—on the evening of January 26, 2026.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the disappearance of the minor and disclosed that the victim is currently in Ghana. This development has provided investigators with a critical lead in efforts to locate and safely recover the girl.
In response, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc, mnips, PhD, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Awka, for a thorough and discreet investigation. The move is aimed at establishing the full circumstances surrounding the girl’s relocation and identifying any other individuals connected to the incident.
