…SECURE MEDICAL EVIDENCE, READY TO PROSECUTE THEM TO COURT

Anambra State Police Operatives have arrested two suspects in two separate cases of defilement reported and transferred to the Gender Unit at the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation.

The Operatives have also secured medical evidence to prove the suspects’ culpability and will charge the case to Court on Wednesday, August 20th, 2025.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed that the cases include a case of defilement transferred from CPS Onitsha on 8th August 2025 which stated how one Emmnuel Sampson living in Odoakpu, Onitsha lured an 8-year-old daughter of his neighbour under the pretence of giving her food and thereafter had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

Similarly, on 14th August 2025, a case of defilement was transferred from the 3-3 Division which stated how a 13-year-old girl was defiled by a security man in an Estate.

He said that preliminary investigation reveals that the suspect, one ThankGod Damian, a security man in the Estate, lured the victim into an uncompleted building where he forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

SP Ikenga reiterates that the Anambra State Police Command remains committed to ensuring justice for victims of sexual and gender-based violence.

He further advised parents and guardians to remain vigilant and to promptly report all suspected cases to the nearest Police formation for immediate action.
