The Anambra State Police Command has strengthened its operational capacity with the deployment of more than seventy newly passed-out constables from the Police Training College, Oji River, Enugu State.
The officers, who recently completed their basic training, are part of the ongoing efforts of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, to enhance manpower across the Federation and reinforce community policing at the grassroots level.
In a statement by the Command’s Spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, on Wednesday, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc, minps, PhD, assured residents of Anambra State that the new personnel will be strategically deployed across divisions and formations to strengthen visibility policing, improve intelligence gathering, and ensure rapid response to security situations.
“This deployment represents another step toward consolidating our security architecture. These officers will boost our operational effectiveness and further reassure Ndi Anambra of the Command’s readiness to protect lives and property,” the CP said.
He added that the Command remains committed to maintaining peace, safety, and public order through proactive policing and stronger collaboration with local communities.
