The Anambra State Police Command has conducted a security situational assessment in response to credible intelligence regarding a planned protest in some parts of the state.
Command’s Spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed that the assessment findings indicate that residents—particularly Ndi Anambra—have chosen dialogue and peaceful engagement as preferred methods of addressing grievances, rather than resorting to unpatriotic actions such as protests, illegal sit-at-home orders, or any form of civil unrest that disrupts public peace and socio-economic activities.
The Command commends the good people of Anambra State for their increasing commitment to peace, unity, and progress. It further assures the public that robust security measures have been put in place to sustain the current atmosphere of calm, enabling law-abiding citizens to go about their legitimate activities without fear or intimidation.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc, mnips, PhD, reiterates that under his leadership, the Command will continue to adopt proactive policing strategies, enhance community engagement, and work closely with key stakeholders to uphold law and order across the state.
