The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has decorated fourteen newly promoted officers of the Command in a brief but colourful ceremony held on Thursday, October 31, 2025, at the Police Headquarters, Awka.
The event also featured the unveiling of the newly renovated Commissioner of Police Hall — a project facilitated through the goodwill of His Royal Highness, Otonye Efebo, PhD (Shidi VII), the Amadabo of Shidi-Ama, Twon Brass in Bayelsa State.

Speaking during the ceremony, CP Orutugu congratulated the newly elevated officers and urged them to view their promotion as both a recognition of their dedication and a renewed call to higher responsibility. He reminded them that advancement in the Force comes with greater expectations for professionalism, discipline, and service to the public.
The Police Commissioner also commended HRH Otonye Efebo for his support to the Command, describing the gesture as a demonstration of patriotism and a strong commitment to community development. According to him, the renovated hall will serve as a conducive space for strategic meetings, capacity-building workshops, and conferences aimed at improving police operations in the state.

In his remarks, HRH Efebo — who hails from Brass Kingdom in Bayelsa State and counts CP Orutugu among his subjects — expressed delight at the Commissioner’s leadership strides in fostering community engagement, discipline, and visible policing across Anambra. He pledged continued support for initiatives that promote peace, order, and security in the state.
Among the newly decorated officers are CSP Ikpeama Joy Chidimma, DPO Main Market; CSP Asso Emmanuel Agbuka, DPO Amanuke; CSP Nuhu Azeez, Officer-in-Charge of the Special Anti-Cultism Squad (Obosi Sector); CSP Onyilo Thaddeus, Officer-in-Charge of the Special Anti-Cultism Squad (Onitsha Sector); and ten others.
The event was attended by members of the Command’s management team, senior officers, families of the promoted officers, and invited guests. Highlights included the formal decoration of the officers, the unveiling of the refurbished hall, and group photographs to commemorate the occasion.
