The Anambra State Police Command has intensified security presence in schools and places of worship as part of renewed measures to prevent threats and sustain the State’s stable security environment.

Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc, mnips, PhD, announced the reinforced strategy on Sunday, praising residents for what he described as a “growing unity of safety consciousness” across the State. He noted that Ndi Anambra have increasingly demonstrated vigilance, cooperation, and a strong sense of community responsibility—factors that he said have significantly boosted policing efforts.

“Residents are showing remarkable commitment to keeping their communities safe. Their cooperation plays a major role in our continued success,” the CP said.

To consolidate these gains, CP Orutugu has directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Tactical Commanders to scale up security patrols, strengthen intelligence gathering and deepen partnerships with community stakeholders. The move is aimed at ensuring seamless coordination and timely response to emerging security concerns, especially around schools and churches.

He reiterated that the Command remains committed to protecting lives and property, adding that the Police will continue to evolve and improve security strategies to match changing threats.

“The safety of all residents—children in schools, worshippers in churches, and every member of our communities—remains our top priority,” the CP assured.
