In a very bold step to deal with the monstrosity of terrorists, Defence Headquarters has declared Simon Ekpa wanted for terrorism.
In the same vein, 97 other persons were also declared wante,d for terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and perpetration of violent crimes in the country.
Ekpa, who is based in Finland, and a self-proclaimed disciple of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB has claimed to be a factional leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
In a media briefing in Abuja, the Director, Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, also released pictures of the wanted suspects.
A categorisation of the wanted suspects according to their regions indicated that 43 of the suspects are from the North West Zone with the suspects names given as: Alhaji Shingi; Malindi Yakubu; Boka; Dogo Gide; Halilu Sububu; Ado Aliero; Bello Turji; Dan Bokkolo; Labi Yadi ; Nagala; Saidu Idris; Kachalla Rugga and Sani Gurgu.
However, in the North East which is ravaged by Boko Haram and Islamic State for West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists, 33 persons were declared wanted.
Among them are: Abu Zaida; Modu Sulum; Baba Data; Ahmad; Sani Teacher; Baa Sadiq; Abdul Saad; Kaka Abi; Mohammad Khalifa; Umar Tella; Abu Mutahid; Mallam Mohammad; Mallam Tahiru Baga; Uzaiya and Ali Ngule.
In addition, the remaining 21 insurgents were declared wanted for violent crimes from the Southeast and North Central Area.
They are Simon Ekpa; Chika Edoziem; Egede; Zuma; ThankGod; Gentle; Flavour; Mathew; David Ndubuisi; High Chief Williams Agbor; Ebuka Nwaka; Friday Ojimka; Obiemesi Chukwudi aka Dan Chuk; David Ezekwem Chidiebube and Amobi Chinonso Okafor aka Temple among others.
In another development, the federal government has released the names of sponsors of Boko Haram to include Tukur Mamu; Yusuf Ghazaill; Muhammad Sani; Abubakar Muhammad; Sallamudeen Hassan; Adamu Ishak; Hassana-Oyiza Isah and Abdulkareem Musa.
Others sponsors are Umar Abdullahi; West and East Africa General Trading Company Ltd; Settings Bureau De Change Ltd; G-Side General Enterprises; Desert Exchange Ventures Ltd; Eagle Square General Trading Company Limited and Alfa Exchange BDC.
It would be recalled that former President Buhari had during his administration promised to make public names of sponsors of Boko Haram in the country but failed to do so till he relinquished power on the 29th May 2024.
