Rt. Hon. Dr. Midala Usman Balami, Member representing Askira-Uba/Hawul Federal Constituency, has announced fresh rounds of infrastructure interventions aimed at improving access to clean water, security, healthcare, and education across the constituency.
According to a statement issued by his office, plans are underway to commence the drilling of ten boreholes across ten wards, with five wards each in Askira-Uba and Hawul Local Government Areas. The initiative comes in addition to borehole projects earlier facilitated in Mussa, Kida, and Kwajaffa wards, and is designed to expand access to clean and potable drinking water for residents.
The lawmaker also disclosed that an additional one hundred solar-powered streetlights will soon be installed across ten wards—five each in Askira-Uba and Hawul LGAs. This follows the successful installation of solar streetlights in all 25 wards of the constituency, a move widely credited with improving security and stimulating nighttime economic activities.
All interventions, the statement noted, will be executed in phases to ensure quality delivery, proper supervision, and long-term sustainability.
In the health sector, Dr. Balami revealed that preparations have reached an advanced stage for the launch of the Dr. Midala Usman Balami Community Complementary Mobile Medical Clinic, which is expected to deliver basic healthcare services to underserved and hard-to-reach communities.
On education, the lawmaker announced that construction of additional classroom blocks will soon commence, complementing similar projects already completed in Askira Zandawa, Grim Domchoba, and Bwala Hizhi wards.
Dr. Balami reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive development, assuring constituents that every ward and community will benefit from ongoing and future interventions. He emphasized that development across the constituency would continue in a steady and systematic manner to ensure equitable distribution of projects.
