Following the uprising of EndSARS/SWAT protest in Abia State and throughout the nation, the Executive Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has approved the inauguration of a Judicial Panel of Inquiry to investigate allegations of extra-judicial killings and brutality by security agents in the state.
The composition of the panel is as follows:

- Nwakanma John
- Daniel Chinagozi
- Ariwa Zuby
- Eric Ikwuagwu
- Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice (Secretary)
- Bishop Sunday Onuoha
- Comrade John Emejor
- Comrade Nnanna Nwafor
- Mrs Doris Ogala
According to the press statement by the Honorable Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, the Committee will be inaugurated this week Friday, October 23, 2020, at Government House, Umuahia, at 1pm.
