The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, on Tuesday, 28th October, 2025, received the newly appointed Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), and the Service Chiefs in his office at the Ministry of Defence, Ship House, Abuja during a courtesy visit.

The visit underscores the Minister’s commitment to building a cohesive defence leadership anchored on trust, collaboration, and shared purpose.

The Chiefs were appointed last week Friday by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu after relieving the former Service Chiefs of their appointments.

Defence analysts say that this appointment is a renewed drive toward a unified strategy and decisive action in safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity and national interests.

In attendance were the Chief of Defence Staff, Lt Gen Olufemi Oluyede; Chief of Army Staff, Maj Gen Waidi Shaibu; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas; and Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke.
