The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) said it did not kill 70 Boko Haram terrorists and the destruction of five camps in the Lake Chad Basin as reported by a section of the media recently.
Chief Military Public Information Officer, HQ MNJTF, Ndjamena-Chad, Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi said the operation and the neutralization of these terrorists were solely conducted by the Chadian Armed Forces within their territory in the Lake Chad Basin area, stating that the Chadian Military officially announced the fit during a press conference on June 30, 2024.
According to Lt. Col. Abdullahi, “The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) was inaccurately credited with the elimination of 70 Boko Haram terrorists and the destruction of 5 Camps in the Lake Chad Basin by a section of the media.
“For accuracy, it is essential to note that this operation and the subsequent neutralisation of these terrorists were solely conducted by the Chadian Armed Forces within their territory in the Lake Chad Basin Area. The Chadian military officially announced this achievement during a press conference on 30 June 2024.
“We apologize for any confusion caused by the previous press release, which may have been misinterpreted. The MNJTF respects and acknowledges the significant accomplishments of the Chadian forces in combating terrorism. Moving forward, we are committed to providing clear and precise information to ensure proper attribution of military operations and their outcomes.”
