As part of his ongoing End of Year commissioning of projects, the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, on Wednesday commissioned several facilities at Ebubu-Eleme and Borokiri in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Making his remarks at the event, he promised to place a premium on addressing the issues of inadequate accommodation to boost NN personnel welfare.

“We are rehabilitating and bringing back abandoned accommodations to become useful for us because we have a very serious challenge of inadequate accommodation.

“We have put all our resources to make sure that whichever one we can do is done properly, in addition to the new ones that we are building in Port Harcourt and other areas.”

The inaugurated facilities commissioned include: Parade Ground and Pavilion; Junior Rates’ Mess; Senior Rates’ Mess; Headquarters Naval Training Command Officers’ Mess; 2x Ratings Accommodation Blocks of 47 x Rooms each and One Block of 56 x 1 Bedroom Flat Apartments.

It was gathered that with the multiple commissioning of those projects, Admiral Ogalla has further reassured his officers and men that their welfare need would be of topmost priority.
