The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali has deployed 1,715 Police officers to all Muslim worship centres, and to all the nooks and crannies of the state to step up security as part of its statutory responsibility to secure lives and properties, maintain peace during the Eid-El-Fitr Celebration.
This is in commemoration of the Holy month of Ramadan which comes to a close today and the declaration of a public holiday to mark the celebration by the Federal Government on May 12 – 13, 2021.
CP Ali, therefore, urged members of the public to continue to assist and collaborate with the police and other security agencies to enable them to serve the people of the state better.
He admonished them to be security conscious and take appropriate measures towards personal protection and their personal effects, not only at home but also in public places such as markets, worship centres, shopping malls, and highways.
While felicitating with Muslim Ummah residents in the state who are celebrating this auspicious occasion of this year’s Eid el-Fitr, CP Ali extended his warmest greetings on the occasion.
“This month of Ramadan doesn’t not only brings us blessings but is also believed to instill in adherents the value of sustained and patient acquired to be part of our daily lives.
“The lesson from this season urges us to shun all differences and exhorts us to promote harmony with a view to showing love and affection for one another according to Allah’s teachings.
“We should remember that Eid is the epitome of collective happiness and its blessing should be spread amongst all,” CP Ali emphasized.
The message which was contained in a statement signed by the spokesperson, Delta State Police Command, DSP Edafe Bright added that the CP enjoined everyone while engaging in the celebration of Eid el-Fitr to adhere strictly Covid-19 protocols with a view to curtailing the spread of the pandemic.
