The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, on Friday led a confidence-building security patrol of mosques and recreational centres across the Abuja Metropolitan Area as part of measures to ensure public safety during the festive period.
The patrol, conducted on December 26, was aimed at assessing security arrangements at key public locations and reinforcing the Command’s proactive approach to crime prevention and public safety management.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the exercise is part of ongoing efforts to protect residents and visitors as social and religious activities increase during the festivities. The Commissioner’s visit to strategic locations was intended to reassure the public of the police presence and readiness to respond to any security threats.
The FCT Police Command said the patrol complements existing security measures already deployed across the territory, including visible patrols, intelligence-led operations and sustained collaboration with other security agencies. These efforts, the Command noted, are targeted at deterring criminal activities and maintaining a peaceful environment throughout the festive season.

CP Dantawaye reassured residents of the Command’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property in the FCT. He also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with the police by promptly reporting any suspicious activities through the Command’s emergency channels.
The police assured that security operations will continue across the FCT to ensure a safe and secure atmosphere before, during and after the festive period.
