
The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc, minps, PhD, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, joined the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, NPM, PhD, who was represented by AIG Abayomi Peter Oladipo, psc, at the Passing Out Parade (POP) ceremony of the 2022/2023 batch of recruit constables held at the Police Training College, Oji River, Enugu State.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, Awka, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the colourful and well-attended ceremony marked the successful completion of basic training for thousands of recruit constables across various training institutions nationwide. The newly graduated officers are now equipped with the discipline, knowledge, and operational skills required to serve and protect citizens under the IGP’s vision of a reformed, professional, and community-oriented Nigeria Police Force.

In his address, the Inspector-General of Police, represented by AIG Oladipo, charged the new constables to uphold professionalism, integrity, and respect for human rights in the discharge of their duties. He emphasized that adherence to ethical conduct and community partnership remains central to the Force’s renewed policing agenda.
Speaking at the event, CP Orutugu reaffirmed the commitment of the Anambra State Police Command to align with the IGP’s strategic policing vision aimed at building safer communities and strengthening public confidence in the Force. He congratulated the new constables and encouraged them to remain disciplined, resilient, and service-driven as they begin their policing careers.
The event was graced by senior police officers, representatives of sister security agencies, government officials, traditional rulers, and families of the graduating constables who gathered to celebrate the milestone achievement.
