The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc MNIPS PhD has continued to open more channels of Policing engagement as he received a human rights group today, May 6, 2025, in his Office at the State Police Headquarters, Awka.
During the interaction, the CP commended the group and showed interest in a complaint about a widow who was physically brutalised and assaulted in Amanuke by her brother-in-law.

While directing the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, to investigate the incident, the CP expressed willingness to pay the fine, but must ensure that justice is served.
In their response, the leader of the Human Rights group, Mr. Charles Ejefonye thanked the CP for receiving them and presented a book as a gesture of appreciation for his commitment to human rights, community engagement, upholding the law and protecting the rights of citizens, particularly vulnerable individuals in the State.
