The Commissioner of Police, Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU), Ikoyi, Lagos, CP Rose Chollom Dung, has formally bowed out of active service in the Nigeria Police Force following her attainment of the statutory retirement age of 60 years.
CP Dung, the 32nd Commissioner of Police to head the Police Special Fraud Unit, concluded her service on Saturday, January 17, 2026, during a well-attended valedictory ceremony that also marked her 60th birthday.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ovie Kenneth Ewhubare, the ceremony attracted top strategic leaders of the Nigeria Police Force, including the Force Gender Adviser to the Inspector-General of Police, AIG Aishatu Abubakar Baju, OON, mni; the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2, Lagos, AIG Adegoke M. Fayoade, mni, psc, minim, fisn; AIG Margaret Ochala of the FCID Annex, Lagos; AIG Okunade Ronke Nurat, fsi, mspsp, of the Maritime Command, Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos; AIG Omolara Oloruntola; and the Commandant, Police College Ikeja, CP Simeon Udofia Akpanudom, fdc.
Also in attendance were the Commissioner of Police, Anti-Fraud Section, FCID Annex Lagos, other serving senior officers, captains of industry, stakeholders, and distinguished dignitaries, including a retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG Sylvester Abiodun Alabi, psc, mnim, fdc, alongside other retired senior officers.
In her valedictory address, CP Dung expressed deep gratitude to God Almighty for His grace, protection, and good health throughout her policing career. She described the occasion as a moment of reflection and thanksgiving, noting that her years in service were guided by professionalism, integrity, and dedication to duty.
She particularly appreciated the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, for his leadership, commitment to personnel welfare, and promotion of professionalism and gender inclusivity within the Force.
The outgoing Commissioner paid glowing tribute to the management team, officers, men, and women of the Police Special Fraud Unit, describing her tenure at PSFU as one of the most fulfilling periods of her career. She commended their discipline, resilience, and professionalism, stating that their collective efforts enhanced the Unit’s operational effectiveness and public confidence.
CP Dung also acknowledged the unwavering support of PSFU stakeholders and institutional partners, noting that their collaboration significantly strengthened the Unit’s investigative capacity and successes.
In a goodwill message, the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Maritime, Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos, AIG Okunade Ronke Nurat, fsi, mspsp, reflected on their shared professional journey and enduring relationship. She praised CP Dung’s resilience and contributions to the Nigeria Police Force, while wishing her a peaceful, fulfilling, and rewarding life after retirement.
CP Rose Chollom Dung concluded by thanking friends, colleagues, stakeholders, and well-wishers whose presence added colour to the ceremony, expressing confidence that the Police Special Fraud Unit would continue to uphold professionalism and excellence in the discharge of its mandate.
