…DRUGS, FABRICATED REVOLVER, CUT TO SIZE GUN RECOVERED

The arrest of one Henry Godwin, 30 years old man from Ujevwu village in Udu Local Government Area has been made by the Delta State Police Command.
The policemen who were on a “stop and search” at Aladja Road by Igbeki junction intercepted the three boys who were riding on a daylong motorcycle with Reg No. GE 225 UT.
A search conducted on him led to the recovery of one locally-made gun and two live cartridges. However, a manhunt for the fleeing suspects is ongoing.
Also on August 5, 2021, at about 1030hrs Dragon patrol team 05 along Agbor/Urhonigbe road intercepted one blue color TVS tricycle with Reg no: AFZ 716 YN with two occupants.
Immediately they sighted the Police team, one of the occupants jumped and escaped into a nearby bush while one Sunday Nwite, 26 years of Umuezei quarters Asaba was arrested.
On interrogation it was learnt, the suspect confessed to have stolen the tricycle from where it was parked somewhere in Sapele and was on his way to Asaba to sell the tricycle.
The spokesperson, Delta State Police Command, DSP Edafe Bright also revealed in a release in Asaba on Sunday that on August 7, 2021, about 0930hrs Safer Highway patrol team 018 stationed along Agbor Alifikede boundary between Delta and Edo state while conducting stop and search intercepted and arrested one Samuel Ikpi, a 28 years old man who resides at Odigbo new town Ondo State and Eunice Samuel, a 25 years old female who claimed to be the wife of the first suspect.
A search carried out on them led to the recovery of one locally fabricated revolver pistol and a locally made short gun and two cartridges. Other items recovered include five android phones, a power bank, 25 Sim cards of different networks, and 1hp Laptop. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect is a member of aro-barger confraternity.
Similarly, a 40 years old Odili Innocent of Idogbo area Benin City has been arrested with one locally made pistol and three live cartridges.
In another development, suspected hard drug dealers have been nabbed in their hideout in Ozoro community.
It was learnt that during the raid, two suspects one Elo Edinburh, and Joy Edinburh both females were arrested and exhibit recovered from them included 700 wraps of substance suspected to be Indian Hemp, 29 wraps of loud, one packet of loud, 33 ties of cocaine ice, six pieces of moly hard drugs, two sachets of tramadol, 13 capsules of swinol, 14 packets of Rizlers. Investigations are continuing.
The Commissioner of Police Delta State Command, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, has urged members of the public to continue to partner with the police by given timely and useful information that would help in tackling crime and criminality in the state while advising Deltans to be law-abiding.
