The Depot Nigerian Army Zaria in its determination to develop recruits’ essential skills in weapon handling with a view to preparing them for military operations, engage the trainees in Small Arms Championship.
The Championship for the recruits of the 89 Regular Recruit Intake took place on Monday, 27th October, 2025, at the Depot Range in Dogarawa, Zaria with Alpha Company emerged as the overall winner of the competition.
Major General OO Arongudade, the Special Guest of Honour, expressed his satisfaction with the recruits’ performances.
He urged them to improve on their weaknesses, as highlighted by their coaches, to enhance their overall performance.
Major General Arongudade also acknowledged the efforts of the Commandant Depot, Nigerian Army, and others involved in the training of the recruits, and wished them success in the upcoming ‘Exercise KUN GAMA.’
According to the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations,
Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria, Captain Viola Anele added that the event was concluded with the presentation of medals to standout recruits and the winning companies, celebrating their achievements in the competition.
