The Police Commissioner of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, CP Garuba G. Haruna, has described the allegations of missing male organs across Abuja and its environs as false attributing it to the handiwork of mischief makers.
CP Haruna, made the disclosure on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, while briefing journalists at the Command’s headquarters about the crime prevention successes it recorded across the FCT in the last few days, adding that the Command received over ten cases, mostly around Garshi, Gwagwalada and the Kwalis axis, some of which he said, escalated into mob actions by irate youths.
The Police boss explained that no loss of life was recorded in the reported incidents, stating that when the victims were taken to the hospital for evaluation, tests conducted on them revealed that their organs were not only intact, they were also very active.
“I also want to address this issue that is trending almost everywhere in the FCT, particularly in Garshi, Gwagwalada, and Kwali axis. The FCT command has recorded over 10 cases of alleged disappearance of male organs across the Federal Capital Territory. This has escalated to mob action by irate youths.
“The command intervened to prevent loss of lives and restore order. Thirteen suspects so far, who claimed their male organs have disappeared were taken to the hospital where medical doctors confirmed that their male organs are intact and active.”
CP Haruna pointed out that the claimants have been charged to court for giving false information and inciting public disturbance.
While urging FCT residents not to resort to jungle justice, he also counselled them to prevail on their children and wards to desist from raising false as according to him, claims about missing are nothing but a psychological thing.
“The suspects have subsequently been charged to court for giving false information and inciting public disturbance. In all of these cases, if not for the prompt action by the police to the distress call, we would have had a fatal case in all of these. Nobody died in the process but they were beaten. The good thing is that they were rescued.
“I wish to use this opportunity to appeal to FCT residents to watch their wards and children to desist from raising false alarms. This is just a mere psychological thing. The male organs certainly did not disappear according to medical reports. They are enjoined not to resort to jungle justice or mob action because if you do, innocent lives are not lost in the process,” he advised.
