It was a black Christmas for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorists operating in the Northwest as the President of the United States of America, Mr. Donald Trump directed a massive deadly air strike against the terrorists in Sokoto.
According to his tweet on X, said “Tonight, at my direction as Commander in Chief, the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS Terrorist Scum in Northwest Nigeria, who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians, at levels not seen for many years, and even Centuries!
Meanwhile, the Federal Government has confirmed the airstrike saying that it was a coordinated security cooperation with international partners, including the United States, led to the precision air strikes on terrorist targets in the North West of Nigeria.
Adding that the operations are part of ongoing efforts to tackle persistent terrorism and violent extremism across the country.
Trump further stated that he had previously warned these “Terrorists that if they did not stop the slaughtering of Christians, there would be hell to pay, and tonight, there was.”
“The Department of War executed numerous perfect strikes, as only the United States is capable of doing. Under my leadership, our Country will not allow Radical Islamic Terrorism to prosper.”
While wishing the military God’s blessing and Merry Christmas, Trump stated, “May God Bless our Military, and MERRY CHRISTMAS to all, including the dead Terrorists, of which there will be many more if their slaughter of Christians continues,” he reiterated on his X.

Giving further insight, the Federal Government in a statement confirming the U.S President, Donald Trump’s tweet on the precision airstrike, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Spokesperson Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, said: “Nigerian authorities remain engaged in structured security cooperation with international partners, including the United States of America, in addressing the persistent threat of terrorism and violent extremism.
“This has led to precision hits on terrorist targets in Nigeria by air strikes in the North West.”
He noted that such collaboration includes intelligence sharing, strategic coordination, and other forms of support conducted in line with international law, mutual respect for Nigeria’s sovereignty, and commitments to regional and global security.
“Terrorist violence in any form whether directed at Christians, Muslims, or other communities remains an affront to Nigeria’s values and to international peace and security.”
Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfafuether noted in the statement that Nigeria government’s zero tolerance for attacks on civilians.
It would be recalled that in some parts of the country, there have been spiralling of attacks from terrorists, bandits and kidnappers in recent times. Only on Christmas eve, a mosque was attacked in Gamboru market in Borno, killing several and injuring many others.
