Two ebullient Sunrise Daily presenters on Channels TV; Chamberlain Usoh and Kayode Okikiolu have been picked up by men of the Directorate of State Security (DSS).
They were picked up on Thursday morning over purported anti-Buhari interviews they anchored.
Chamberlain Usoh and Kayode Okikiolu had on Wednesday morning on the programme interviewed a retired Naval Commodore Kunle Oluwunmi bothering on the security challenges especially the attack on the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) where two officers were killed and one other Kidnapped by bandits.
He made some stunning revelations about some pitfalls in the security sector while at the same time attacked the military authorities for not regulating the influx of Moslem worshippers who thrung military locations on Friday for their service. A situation that has given terrorists access to profile and access military environment.
Also, their arrest was linked with the interview granted by Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State during which he accused President Muhammadu Buhari of promoting a Fulanisation agenda.
Commodore Kunle Olawunmi (rtd) had revealed that people who have been indicted by an investigative panel are in the Buhari’s government and they were allegedly accused of sponsoring Boko Haram.
Sunrise Daily’s lead anchor and producer, Chamberlain Usoh, who confirmed the development on the telephone, said he did not know yet where they were being taken to.
Another source from the station also confirmed that they have been invited for questioning.
At the moment, it is still unclear whether they were been detained or would be released after interrogation.
