The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has charged Nigerian youths, particularly corps members, to be goal-oriented, embrace technology for positive impact, and play active roles in the fight against corruption.
Olukoyede gave the charge on Thursday, October 2, 2025, while addressing members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Batch B, Stream 2, at the Lagos orientation camp in Iyana Ipaja. He was represented by Babatunde Sulaiman, Head of Public Affairs, Lagos Zonal Directorate 2.
He urged corps members to expose fraud and other financial crimes around them rather than shielding perpetrators, noting that the Commission’s Eagle Eye App was designed to make reporting easier.
“Be goal-oriented. Don’t cover up criminal tendencies and fraudulent practices around you. Expose them and offer useful intelligence to the EFCC through the Eagle Eye App. As young Nigerians, you will surely find it useful and engaging,” he said.

The EFCC chairman warned youths against indulging in internet fraud, stressing that convictions leave permanent scars on their future. According to him, ex-convicts face limitations in holding public office, securing visas, or gaining trust in national and international ventures.
Similar sensitisation exercises were held across NYSC orientation camps nationwide. In Enugu, Olukoyede, represented by Chief Superintendent of the EFCC, Bashir Emmanuel Afanda, urged corps members to use their education to enlighten communities against corruption. In Akwa Ibom and Cross River States, EFCC officials emphasised the need for legitimate ways of earning income, while in Kaduna, corps members were reminded that “there is no shortcut to wealth and fame.”
Olukoyede noted that the NYSC scheme offers young Nigerians a unique opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to national development. He stressed that the youth remain critical in reshaping the country’s anti-corruption narrative.
