Eminent Nigerians gathered on Saturday at Ikoyi area of Lagos State to celebrate with the immediate past Commissioner of Police Special Fraud Unit (SFU) Milverton, Lagos on her promotion to the rank of an Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG).
AIG Ronke Okunade, described by friends and family members as a diligent and amiable officer, is currently the AIG Police College, Kaduna.
On ground to celebrate her on Saturday, 30th August, 2025, in the twin event of her promotion and sent forth party from the Special Fraud Unit, included the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Zone 2 Lagos, Fayoade Mustapha Adegoke, former AIG Zone 2 Olatonye Durosimi, Chief Charles Odunukwe, former Lagos State Security Trust Fund and a board member of STF, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan.
Others were the former Force Secretary, AIG Yetunde Longe and the AIG Margaret Ochala, Investigation FCID Annex Alagbon Close, Lagos.
In her good will message, AIG Adegoke spoke frankly about AIG Ronke, as an amiable officer other officer should emulate in the force. According to him, he knew the family over forty years ago and they are lovely and peaceful. I wish her well in her future endeavours.
Also AIG Olatonye Durosimi describes the celebrated officer as one of the best currently in the service. Also in reaction, Evangelist Paulinus Ugochukwu, former President of Alaba International Market described AIG Ronke is a wonderful Woman that everyone should emulate in the Nigeria police force.
In his accolades, CSP Falomo Oluwale, O/c Financial Malpractice Investigation Unit, Special Fraud Unit, sees AIG Ronke as a Godly and professional woman and wish her well in her future endeavors.
Upon her elevation to the rank of Commissioner of Police, she was the CP in charge of General Investigation FCID Annex, Lagos.
AIG Ronke attended various courses within and outside Nigeria including; Citizenship and Leadership Training55 Police Mobile Force Combat Training; Intermediate Command Course (ICC); Human Rights Course; Strategic Leadership and Command Course (SLC); Comprehensive Criminology Management Course; Community Policing Course, and is a Fellow of the National Institute for Security Studies.
Her last assignment was as the Commissioner of Police in charge of Police Special Fraud Unit Lagos.
AIG Ronke holds a B.Sc in Psychology from th University of Ibadan. She enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and upon completion of training, she was first posted to Ondo State Command where she began her police career and did her one year mandatory attachment.
During the course of her illustrious career, she has served in different positions such as: Commandant Provost Department, Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos; 2ic Kawo Division, Kaduna State Command; DPO Apapa Division, Railway Command; DPO Apata Division, Oyo State Command; CSP Admin, Ondo State Command; Acting Area Commander Ebute Meta, Railway Command; AC Admin Lagos Command; DC Admin FCID Annex Lagos; DC Admin Cross River State Command amongst other numerous postings.
AIG Ronke Nurat Okunade, hails from Ogbomosho in Ogbomosho North Local Government Area of Oyo State.
