In consonance with the festive season which is associated with lavish giving and celebrations, Headquarters 9 Brigade Nigerian Army, has organized its End-of-Year Party for the children residing in Ikeja Cantonment.

The party with the theme: “Ikeja Cantonment End-of-Year Funfair,” was aimed at commemorating the holiday and creating a relaxed atmosphere for the children and families of all personnel.

While addressing the children, the Commander 9 Brigade, Brigadier General Olawale Matthew Oyekola, expressed delight at the large turnout and emphasized the joy of bringing smiles to the faces of the children.

He praised the parents and encouraged them to sustain their dedications to the well-being of the children to nurture them in the right direction, while emphasizing the need for safety and security during the funfair to achieve the joyful and celebratory effects of the yuletide season.

In a heartwarming gesture, the children who were estimated to be about 2,500 used the opportunity to sing for the Commander, showing their excitement and happiness for the funfair.

The highpoint of the event was a performance by BOYSARM, an upcoming artiste. Food and drinks (soft) including sharing to other children within the barracks and cash prizes for different categories of games were won, including sectional photographs.
