In a bid to ensure a peaceful and secure Christmas celebration across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc., on Tuesday, December 24, 2025, conducted a strategic operational patrol of selected border and fringe communities within the Territory.

The patrol, carried out on the eve of Christmas, covered key border settlements, including Kawu—made up of about 36 villages—as well as Igwu, Tokolo, Pannannake, Kaudashi, Kikumi, Sabon Kawu, Karaku, Gaba, and Zuma I and II.

During the tour, CP Dantawaye engaged extensively with the District Head of Kawu, His Royal Highness Abdulrahman Dan Juma Ali, alongside other community stakeholders, to assess the prevailing security situation and deepen collaboration at the grassroots level.

The operational visit was aimed at reassuring residents of the Police Command’s readiness to protect lives and property, enhancing police visibility in border communities, deterring criminal activities, and reinforcing intelligence-led policing ahead of the Christmas and New Year festivities.

The Commissioner of Police stressed the importance of sustained community cooperation, timely intelligence sharing, and vigilance, particularly in border areas that interface with neighbouring states. He noted that effective policing thrives on trust and partnership between security agencies and local communities.

CP Dantawaye also directed officers and men deployed to the affected areas to remain alert, professional, and responsive to the needs of the public, while maintaining aggressive patrols and surveillance throughout the festive period.

According to the Command’s Spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, residents were urged to remain law-abiding and to promptly report suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police station or through the FCT Police Command emergency lines: 08032003913 and 08061581938.

The patrol forms part of the Command’s broader festive season security strategy aimed at ensuring a safe, peaceful, and crime-free Yuletide celebration across the Federal Capital Territory.
