To enhance officers’ efficiency and discipline, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Olatunji Disu, psc, has commenced a Tactical Training Refresher Course for all officers and men under his command.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, said the comprehensive program, personally launched by CP Disu, commenced with officers directly attached to him, exemplifying his dedication to leading by example.
“The training is designed to be conducted in phases, ensuring that all officers within the Command are equipped with essential skills, including professional communication, tactical operations, and public engagement.
“Under the directives of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, the training focuses on key areas such as weapon handling, marksmanship, musketry, and riot control. This initiative aims to bolster the officers’ operational capabilities, professionalism, and preparedness in addressing modern policing challenges.”
Speaking during the launch, CP Disu highlighted the significance of the training. “This program underscores our unwavering commitment to equipping every officer with the tools needed to tackle the evolving demands of policing. I aim to set a high standard for the Command by starting with those closest to me. Ultimately, every officer, across all Divisions and Formations, will benefit from this initiative,” he stated.
This training underscores the Command’s commitment to improving public safety and ensuring a responsive Police force capable of safeguarding lives and property across the Federal Capital Territory.
