The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory Police Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, has extended warm congratulations to the newly appointed Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on his confirmation as the 23rd Indigenous Inspector General of the Nigeria Police Force.
In a congratulatory message issued on behalf of officers and men of the FCT Command, CP Dantawaye described the appointment as a recognition of IGP Disu’s exceptional professionalism, courage and unwavering dedication to duty throughout his distinguished career.
He noted that the new police chief has consistently demonstrated visionary leadership, operational excellence, discipline and integrity — qualities that have earned him the respect and confidence of officers, stakeholders and the general public.
The CP particularly recalled IGP Disu’s tenure as the 32nd Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, describing it as impactful and memorable.
According to him, the Command continues to uphold the high standards, strategic reforms and operational frameworks established during Disu’s time in Abuja.
He added that the legacies left behind in discipline, community engagement, crime-fighting strategies and personnel welfare remain a benchmark of excellence within the Command.
In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Command assured the Inspector General of its unflinching loyalty and steadfast support towards the successful realization of his vision for a safer and more secure nation.
